Proloquo2Go AAC App Reviews

Life Changing ❤

This has improved our sons quality of life. He went from no communication to fully communicating with this app. There was so much inside him and his behavior was often bad. We still have some behavior issues, but his ability to communicate has made his behavior so much better. He can participate in activities at school. The programming is easy and with the new iPad having a camera, pictures are a snap to add. He said the pledge this morning on announcements using proloquo with his classmates. He has completed oral home work assignment using proloquo. He shares our family vacation photos and talks about them with others using this app. The list is endless of things he can do now that were impossible before. The drop box feature allows me to easily put his folder on my iPhone so all his customizations are there too. Worth every penny to buy this app. It is expensive, but the results are priceless! Thank you so much proloquo for allowing my son to be just like every other child that can communicate thoughts. ❤

SLPA

I like this app and use it with several adults. It is easy to use and program. A few things I would like to see is more macros that open up other apps or features on the iPad such as a button the would open up picture gallery or email. I would also like to see this app with a zoom feature. So that if a button is selected it zooms or enlarges (I dont necessarily need the whole page to enlarge)

Great for my boy

So far so good. I love that I can use pictures instead of icons. Simple to use, easy to creat new boards, folders and icons. I use dropbox to keep all our devices the same. I have tried a few AACs I like this one so far.

Like 1,000 flash cards thrown on the floor

Proloquo2go is like throwing 1,000 flash cards on the floor and asking a kid to build a sentence. The interface is a mess of folders nested with folders and finding what you want among thousands of stick figures is near impossible. The level of customization necessary for each individual makes the interface design even more perplexing. This is not an easy app to customize. Its basically a confusing melange of flash cards. My daughter just stims with it and creates two minute-long run on nonsensical messages. I cant stand this app.

Amazing!

Great app for non verbal children! Teaching them how to use it can be a bit of a challenge and takes months and dedication but the rewards are giving children who cant speak a voice!

Not user-friendly

I agree with another reviewer. It definitely takes time, a lot of practice, patience, and determination to get use to this app. I think GoTalk is more user-friendly. There are just too many pages and customizations that its almost too much customizing because then the child cant use that customized setting across environments. We are using Words for Life, LAMP, which has been good. I think it comes down to testing out different apps until you find the one that works best for your situation. I just wish this app came with a free version. I had to pay $220 to find it wasnt the best one for us.

New version doesn’t work on old device

This app has been a great resource for my son — freeing him from the old, unwieldy dedicated devices that he used to use. We found a great solution with Proloquo2Go and an iMainGo portable speaker. Unfortunately, the newer iPod Touch doesn’t fit into the iMainGo — and the “update” for Proloquo2Go won’t load on an older iPod. I’ve tried to reload, but I can’t get the old version of the program back. Please — either fix the update, or re-release an older version, so we can continue to use your product.

Zero star

If you not sure if your kids going to like it, Dont buy it ,because they dont offer free trial,my kids dont even touch it its sitting in my cloud ,wasting over $200

P2G 4 - the best version yet!

I am loving P2G 4! The new crescendo vocabulary is awesome particularly how it scaffolds each level of vocabulary learner while still focusing on evidence-based use of core vocabulary! The options to move from level to level and still have vocabulary in the same place is so important. Great job!

New version is the best yet!

We have been using this program with our non-verbal 8 year old for just over 3 years now, and I can truly say that this update makes all the difference in the world in terms of ease of programming and ease of use! I especially love the new snap back and pop-up features so that my son doesnt have to navigate through so many folders to make his thoughts known. And the new template feature will certainly help with motor planning and its a million times easier on the programmer, who know longer had to take hours and hours to make sure that each page has all the core vocabulary in the same places. Way to go, Assistiveware!!!

Please put back Show options button!

Please, please, please put back the Options Button Visibility section with the Show Options Button toggle that was formerly in the iPad Settings under Proloquo2go. My kids can be locked in Proloquo2go with Guided Access but now that I upgraded to Version 4.1 that feature is missing. Without the ability to hide the Options button on the lower bar of the Proloquo2go screen, my non-verbal Autustic kids are getting into all the settings and messing up their boards, icons, everything! Can you fix this ASAP? Thank you.

Almost Perfect

I bought this app the day it originally became available and I have loved using it with my students and my adult clients ever since. What would make it truly awesome ...PODD (Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display) templates! Please, please, please consider making them available for this app!

Easy to use communication app for a nonverbal child

My autistic nonverbal son has been using this app for over a year now and its worked out great. He started with PECs when he was 2, then in kindergarten he moved to the iPad with Proloquo2go. The app is very user friendly. There are a lot of training videos on the website and a helpful staff to answer any questions and provide additional resources. The other reviewer, Mom of 4 kids, had an issue with the Options button visibility. I think this is an IOS9 issue, to bring back the toggle to show and hide Options all you have to do is exit the Settings app from multitasking, hope this helps.

Great! Only one request

Most reviewers speak of what Proloquo2Go can do for children with communication difficulties. But it is important to point out that it is also a powerful communications tool for adults who have lost their ability to speak due to neuromuscular disorders or other conditions. I lost my voice to primary lateral sclerosis and have been relying on AAC technology since 2008. Ive been using Proloquo2Go since the first iPad came out. I love having the power of sophisticated speech in a lightweight package. I especially appreciate the amazing customizability that gets increasingly powerful with each update. Ive created well over a thousand custom buttons that get me through most of the situations I encounter, from shopping through doctor visits. The variety of available voices and the ability to assign different voices to different buttons adds a little fun to the day. My one wish is to be able to import a sound and assign it to a button.

Best communication app

Highly customizable, easy to use and learn, easy to grow to very complex from very simple. With ABA therapy my daughter has learned to communicate.

This app was well worth the money

We got this app for my son who is autistic and non verbal he has been using this app now for about 6 months and it has been a life saver for us. We wouldnt have any other way to communicate with our son. Thank you for this amazing app and for the opportunity to experience it with our son

Well worth the cost!

We purchased this app for my son, who is autistic, after his speech therapist recommended it. I am so happy we did! His tantrums have decreased dramatically because now he can better communicate with us. I am indebted to this app!!!

Awesome App

This app is simply incredible.

Need expandable text box

Proloquo2Go is invaluable to me, as I am a Disability Rights Advocate and Public Speaker and use your app to deliver my speeches. The one comment I would like to suggest is to make the text box (the one where the user types in their message) expandable. I use a word processor app to type my speech, then I copy and paste it into Proloquo2Go. The issue is once I listen to my speech (before I deliver it), should it need editing, I am forced to go back to the word processing app, edit it there, then copy and paste it once again in Proloquo2Go. I may repeat this process a few times, until I get my speech the way I want it. If the said text box was expandable and vertically scrollable, as many text boxes are on websites, I could do my edits there instead of having to switch back and forth between apps. Depending on the length of my speech, I could possibly type the speech directly into Proloquo2Go. I understand that the way that your app currently is, I could edit my speech directly if I used an external keyboard which has left and right arrow buttons, however I normally use an iPad to type my data, and an external keyboard is usually not available. An external keyboard is also an additional cost which many individuals with disabilities cannot afford, thus reworking your text box to make it expandable and vertically scrollable would be the solution to this issue.

Great App!

P2G has helped my daughter continued to be movitated to communicate. With her limited verbal ability it has helped her to better explain what she is trying to say if we or others dont understand her. Tech support for P2G is also excellent! One helpful note about back-ups - do them and use DropBox!
